All three areas (D,F,G) continued to make good progress in lovely autumn weather. The Russian team in Area F have penetrated through the Byzantine floors and are encountering significant Roman finds, include first century coins. In Area D the Israeli team is in the process of dismantling walls from previous seasons to access more of the earlier strata. In Area G the beginning of any new square is slow going with lots of dirt to move, stones, and roots. We are finding a few coins, Kfar Hananya pottery (1-2 centuries) as well as finer 1 century Terra Siglata pottery which is imported from Phoenecia. Finally, we have articulated around what looks like a doorway but yet are uncertain about its context. It is still early days and we are excited to see what new discoveries await us.
